Lorraine McCormick

Lorraine McCormickLorraine A. McCormick is a 1993 graduate of the Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center and 1990 graduate of Louisiana State University where she received a Bachelor of Science. She was admitted to the bar in 1994 and began practicing family law as an associate for the law firm of Lee and Walsh.

On January 1, 2000 Mrs. McCormick was one of the few attorneys in Louisiana to be designated by The Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization as a Board Certified Family Law Specialist. She served as the chairperson of the Family Law Advisory Commission of the Louisiana Board of Family Law Specialization. In addition, Mrs. McCormick is a Qualified Family Mediator and trained as a Collaborative Divorce Attorney. She has also served as a Family Law Mediation instructor at the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at L.S.U. She practices exclusively in the area of family law.

Mrs. McCormick is an active member of the Baton Rouge Bar Association and served as the President of the Family Law Section (2002-2003) and was the former Chairperson of the Law Day Committee (1997). She is a member of the American Bar Association, Louisiana State Bar Association, and the Baton Rouge Bar Association. She served as the Past President of the Baton Rouge Association of Women Attorneys (1998-1999); Served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for abused and neglected children; Volunteer Attorney for the Pro Bono Project and the Capital Area Legal Association; Speaker for Continuing Legal Education Seminars for the Family Law Section of the Baton Rouge Bar Association, Loyola University, and Southern University.

She is a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. She is married to Scott Stephen McCormick and they have four children.
